Patrick Oxenham was a noted animal artist and illustrator Patrick Oxenham (1922-1996) who produced the original artwork for at least two issues of British stamps

Patrick is long acknowledged to be a leading wildlife and animal painter. From his early years he showed a keen interest in nature and wildlife which, coupled with an instinctive drawing ability, developed into the work which is so much sought after today. He worked for most of the major publishers in Europe and America and among his many acclaimed commissions were the very popular wildlife and horse stamps designed for the Post Office. His work on the latter became the subject of a television programme, "All the Queen's Horses"
