One garden my family had was particularly large and as consequence difficult to properly maintain, but I loved the areas that became overgrown with brambles, herbaceous plants and shrubs, as these areas seemed impenetrable and mysterious, which is what I have tried to capture in UNDERGROWTH. I love it when nature starts to take over and plants start to knit together. I always find old overgrown gardens so intriguing, like old faded photographs.
